RMAI NEWS UPDATE
Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend. We have a few reminders and announcements to make today, make sure you take note.
NEW SPRING SCHEDULE BEGINS TODAY!
Beginning on Monday April 14 we will be adopting our new spring schedule. For the most part, classes remain the same however in an effort to make room for the new program unveiled on 5/3 (see below). The major changes include the following: White belts and 9th Gup White belts dramatically outnumber Orange and Yellow, so they will now have their time slot all to themselves. Orange and Yellow will now train with the Green through Brown.
To begin raising the overall technical level of the Little Champions, and to give them a better challenge, their class on Wednesday will now be COMBINED with the White Belt Young Gladiators. The format of this class will be more structured and serve as a good ‘in-between’ variation of the formerly more strict White through Yellow belt Young gladiators.
SPECIAL NOTE: 9TH Gup students who are too mature for this class will either be promoted to Orange, or allowed to attend the Orange and above class early… UNDER MASTER CELONA’S DIRECT APPROVAL & RECOMMENDATION ONLY. Any concerns or questions should be taken up with Master Celona.
See Schedule Below
EASTER WEEKEND – Studio Closed.
Good Friday 4/18 through Easter Sunday 4/20 We are closed for the holiday
MARTIAL ARTS PHOTOGRAPHY with RMAPCO
Once again we’ve scheduled our annual day with Robertson’s Martial Arts Photography. Mr Robertson has been taking our photos every year and is responsible for creating the black belt portraits and wonderful photo plaques we have hanging in our foyer. The date we’ve scheduled is Tuesday May 6th beginning at 3:00pm. The signup sheet is up, spaces with fill up fast. Black Belts are required to get one for our display in the dojang but will not be required to purchase one.
SPRING SEMINAR SERIES with Master Celona
Saturday May 3rd is a special day for RMAI. We are hosting seminars ALL day, each with a special theme. Students can select one, two, or all three seminar courses to participate in. Courses are wildly different from one another and will be focused on a specific area of training. From the most relaxed and fun, to the most advanced and structured form of training. We wanted to give students with different interests the opportunity to try different things. CHECK IT OUT:
Beginning with VORTEX SQUAD: An exciting games-based approach to training in martial arts, but with a slightly competitive and athletic edge to it. Different from our standard curriculum appearing in our Little Champions class, this gamified version of training will focus less on a games-based method of learning traditional martial arts, and more on building martial athletes with a variety of games. Some of which have been played before in class. Students 11 years and younger only.
INTRAMURAL COMPETITION LEAGUE is an idea Master Celona had early in his teaching career, but never had the opportunity to implement it. Imagine how a pickup game of street hockey, or basketball might be. A pool of 10 or 20 students are dispersed into 2 to 4 teams and will spend the day competing in traditional martial arts tournament events similarly to how a March Madness tournament bracket is conducted. Teams will earn points in each event and will compete in a single elimination where the winning team gets the glory! Students 11 years and younger only.
Master Celona speaks a lot about the BUNHAE CLUB, but hasn’t conducted a mass recruitment for it in a few years. Bunhae Club classes are usually conducted at night on Tuesdays, but would be willing to add an earlier time for those willing to participate. Bunhae is the advanced study of breaking down and dissecting the hidden meanings of traditional martial arts techniques for the purpose of self-defense. This program is one of the most advanced forms of martial arts practice, and is only for 11 years or older, or younger students Brown and above.
9:00am -9:45am VORTEX SQUAD - (11 years and younger) $45
10:00am – 12:30pm – INTRAMURAL COMPETITION LEAGUE (11 years and younger) - $45

Combined rate for all 3 courses - $150 (save $15)

The RMAI Skool page is a one stop shop where students can access all the curriculum videos typically available in the Zen Planner App. Additionally, it is also a place where exclusive extra content exists, seminar recordings, advanced training, collaborations with other instructors. Skool is a great place for our students to interact with one another, share their training stories, and get feedback from other likeminded individuals. The community is growing every day, join now.
